The Ask.
To create a project with a team collaborating with Fashion Revolution’s platform to spread awareness about sustainable fashion. The goal was to create our own campaign by participating as global citizens to spread awareness of the human and environmental impacts of the textile and apparel industries. Fashion Revolution Week was April 22nd-29th and the theme was Manifesto for a Fashion Revolution.
-We do this through research, education, collaboration, mobilization, and advocacy.

-We believe in a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit.
The Process.
As a team, we decided to interview fellow VCU students on campus to inform them about Fashion Revolution Week. Our goals were to raise awareness about the issues in the fashion industry and get students involved on campus. We had a list of questions and a script that we said to about 15 people and we also videotaped them.
Do you know what Fashion Revolution is?

Are you wearing polyester?
Did you know that about 85% of garment workers do not earn the minimum wage and are instead paid a piece rate of between 2-6 cents per piece?
Will you follow @fash_rev on Instagram to get involved with fashion sustainability?
After we finished interviewing, we edited the video together to turn it into an Instagram Reel. The Reel was posted on @vcuartsfashion on Instagram, the official VCU Arts Fashion Page to help spread even more awareness to more people.
The Outcome.
We were able to get everyone that we interviewed to follow Fashion Revolution on Instagram, and everyone seemed very interested in learning about where their clothes came from and the importance of sustainable fashion. It felt good knowing that we left each person with a little more knowledge on the issues in the fashion industry and I hope that we inspired them to make changes in their consumption process.
